Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice
The British driver has beaten his teammate at each of the past five race weekends.
Lando Norris narrowly beat team-mate and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the closing stages of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who seized the title advantage from his teammate by one point after winning in the Mexican Grand Prix recently, topped the Australian by 0.023 seconds.
Before then, Piastri had been the leading McLaren during the running before the sprint shootout scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the sole remaining contender in realistic title contention, lying 36 points Norris, finished in P17 as his Red Bull team opted for a unique setup.
His teammate Yuki Tsunoda was the only driver to crash, albeit lightly, when he lost control at Turn Four during the early running.
The Japanese spun out over the track edges before rotating through the run-off area, and was fortunate to avoid just a minor contact of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also spun, at the conclusion of the session, rotating twice through the high-speed Mergulho turn approaching the final corner on to the main straight.
Hamilton wrapped up in 19th place, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren drivers were well clear of the other competitors, with Nico Hulkenberg's car third fastest, 0.619 seconds slower than Piastri's best.
The Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with the Sauber of Gabriel Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
